I discovered this article on the internet about the film industry contributing more than £4.6bn towards the UK GDP in 2011. The industry has grown sgnificantly within the previous 20 years, making film more successful as the number of films produced has increased from a estimated 43 in the 1980s to 136 in the 2000s.
